My thoughts on HOW TO TAKE a MASSIVE, DETERMINED ACTION
In my previous article I expressed that the generation which is now between 20 and 30 years old is the generation that can make a difference and generate change in the situation of Roma. This generation, as independent people and also as a team, can take actions in all levels. To achieve an envisaged society where all the people have the same opportunities and obligations as others comes together with a lot of challenges: it is not something that falls to us one day from the sky, but we have to build, win and keep day by day with our action.
A lot of people agree that if we want to see this society free of prejudice, first we have to start with ourselves, because people tend to think that it is important somehow we work on our own integrity and our own approaches .First we have to find our identity, who we are, and who we choose to be. After that we can make decisions to set goals, which is the first step in turning the invisible into visible. But this is still not enough.
When we identify goals that are most important to us and we begin to figure out ways, we can make them come true. We have to develop the attitudes, abilities, skills and financial capacity to reach them. We are not lazy. We simply have impotent goals. That is, goals that do not inspire us. We can set our dream as a goal, but we will never achieve our goal without to take a massive, determined action. Finally we cannot achieve any goals or to be great at something in one week or one month. We have to pay, and “the price to have to pay to be great at something is repetition” Andrew Brown says.
The incentive to write this article was a presentation which I watched with title `Unleash the power within` from an American trainer named Tony Robbins. Tony Robbins and many psychologists say that the thing which plays the most important role when we take a decision and finally we materialize it, is our self-confidence. “To believe in you is like a long journey. You will be lost in the street; you will wonder if you are made for it, you will lose your faith. But continuing on, you will find again the purpose of your journey” says Tony Robbins.
My opinion is that success and failure are two edges of the same blade, two sides of the same coin. To fear one is to forever deny the possibility of the other. We have to decide to press ourselves out of our comfort zone. In sum, a real decision is measured by the fact that you have taken a new action. If there is no action, we have not truly decided.
